Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC)
Clancy is a retired public safety officer having served over thirty-five years in municipal and county law enforcement. He retired from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department in 2004. His specialties included disaster and critical incident response and command. He served as President of the Peace Officers Research Association of California for four years and Vice-President of the California Peace Officers Memorial Foundation for seven years. He was appointed to the Governor’s Emergency Response Training Advisory Committee for the State of California and has worked on several blue ribbon committees with the California Attorney General’s Office. Since retirement, Clancy has worked in the computer and wine industries. He holds a M.P.A. in Administrative Organization and Management, and a B.A. in Public Administration both from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California. Clancy also holds California Community College Instructor Credentials in Public Services and Administration, as well as the Chief Administrative Officer’s Credential.
Clancy has served on the Board of Directors for the Center for Collaborative Solutions since 2002.
