Our nationally recognized team of consultants, coaches and mentors brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to the afterschool programs we work with. We've designed, directed and supported programs in urban and rural areas and know what it takes for them to be successful. We've worked with statewide organizations, cities, school districts and community-based organizations and understand their complexities. We’ve supported programs at all stages of their development with extremely positive results.

Andria (Andi) Fletcher
Chief Consultant
Andi is a nationally recognized expert, keynote speaker, author, workshop presenter and coach in afterschool program and leadership development. Andi is the lead author of the CCS publication A Guide To Developing Exemplary Practices in Afterschool Programs, which details 14 major practices and includes extensive self-assessment tools. She is also the author of CCS’ Expand & Excel CD ROM, a step-by-step guide for managing growth and strengthening quality in afterschool programs. She is the former director of Sacramento Start afterschool program, which she led to exponential growth. Andi helped initiate California's first afterschool legislation and is the author of numerous highly acclaimed afterschool publications. She also authored Lessons in Leadership, and developed and is leading the CCS Healthy Behaviors Initiative and learning community. She is the author of the Changing Lives, Saving Lives guide, and Developing Exemplary Practices in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Food Security in Afterschool Programs. Andi received a doctorate in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Karen Cantrell
Consultant
Karen has more than 25 years of professional experience in designing, directing and supporting district-led, community-based and faith-based afterschool programs and is a recognized leader in the field. As a consultant for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, the Center for Collaborative Solutions and several school districts, she has closely worked with leadership teams, staff members and district administrators at all levels and has made a difference in the lives of thousands of children and their families and communities. She has 10 years of experience conducting formative evaluations that have had a positive impact on program quality. Karen graduated from National University with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science, earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Concordia University and holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. She is a welcome addition to our HBI coaching team!
